The Farallons are a three-piece acoustic group playing a style of music described as Folk 'n Roll with hints of other influences including Irish, Jazz, Classical, Country, and even Latin. Tom Richardson, Terry Mills, and Linda Weber blend a very tight three-part harmony with steel and nylon stringed acoustic guitars, bass, mandolin, flute, and hand percussion. Sets include finely crafted original songs by award-winning songwriter Tom as well as cover tunes from the likes of Buffalo Springfield, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Tom Waits, Richard Thompson, and Karla Bonoff. The Farallons are seasoned professionals with a well established Sonoma County following. They show up on time, look good, don't eat much, and work well with the staff.
Linda Weber - Vocals, percussion, guitar, flute
Linda makes full use of her classical training in voice, dance, and theatre to craft performances that move and inspire. A veteran performer, arranger, and recording artist, she has applied her talents starting with her first band growing up in Phoenix, the L.A. music scene in legendary clubs like the Palomino and Troubadour, on to the Boulder Theatre in Colorado, and many other venues across the West. Noted composer, arranger, and playwrite Bill Kotzwinkle describes our Linda as having, "An authentic voice with real understanding of how to phrase a song. I was far gone in the sound of it, traveling on her gift." You can travel, too.
Terry Mills - Nylon-string acoustic guitar, bass, vocals
Terry applies a nylon string sensibility and a smooth voice to add an exciting texture and rich dynamic to the Farallon sound. A veteran classical guitar performer, his gentle mastery of the guitar has delighted music lovers for over twenty years, weaving styles that include classical, contemporary, renaissance and jazz. Mills is a veteran of the guitar programs at the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music and San Joaquin Delta College, and is a member of the music faculty of Santa Rosa Junior College. He is past Director and performer with The Woods So Wylde, and creator and Director of the Pacific Guitar Ensemble. Terry teaches guitar in Sonoma County, California and plays with the Bachianas Duo.
Tom Richardson - Steel-string acoustic guitar, songwriter, vocals
Tom spent his formative years sitting in front of a radio listening to the likes of Jimmy Thompson out of Bakersfield, Wolfman from Chula Vista, and Top 40 radio for everything else the world was hearing. He spent time in New England and then continued on to Northern Ireland, and all of these places pop up in the music. His songs have won numberous awards. Tom also plays as a solo act that Trip Baldwin of the New City News has described as, "interesting . . . provocative."
